I'm one of the guys behind vodpod.com, and am trying to obtain thumbnails for your videos, when the only piece of info I have is an Embed.
Let's say I have and embed with src: http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:54706
I would like to be able to get the atom feed for this video, but http://api.mtvnservices.com/1/video/54706 does not work. Instead, I need an ID that looks like hznHivqrbHHWADXA. Is there any way to get this ID from the numerical video id?
The best solution I've found thus far is to go to, http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?vid=54706, which then redirects me to the video page. I can then scrape this page for the meta thumbnail, but the thumbnail provided is often times low res. I'd like to be able to obtain a higher resolution, preferably 320x240 thumbnail.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

Unfortunately, we cannot allow this type of look up. I also wouldn't recommend scraping the MTV.com site for the metadata.
Your best bet is to start your search / browse through the API video or artist methods.
